Volunteering during a convention is a wonderful way to meet new friends and make a difference. Here are some ways you can create positive change while in Sydney:
Donate a new children's book to the Labyrinth for Literacy project, located inside the entry to the Billabong House of Friendship. Books will be donated to schools and hospitals benefitting children from aboriginal and needy families living in New South Wales and Queensland. Don’t have a book? You can purchase one at the Scholastic Books booth in the Billabong House of Friendship.
Join us for a 3K (1.8 miles) walk to raise awareness for Rotary and polio eradication. The event will take place Saturday, 31 May, from 10:00-12:00, at Sydney Olympic Park. Entry fee: $A30. Sign up today.
Join RI President Ron Burton along with Rotary members from around the world as we raise money for polio eradication while attempting to break two world records: most flags flown on a bridge and largest number of climbers on the Sydney Harbour Bridge at one time. BridgeClimb will donate half of every ticket purchased to PolioPlus. Book your spot now.
Take part in packing meals for Stop Hunger Now, an international hunger relief agency that has provided over 130 million meals worldwide. The meals will go to feed local families in need. Visit the Stop Hunger Now booth in Billabong House of Friendship to learn how you can help.
Enter for your chance to participate in our 90-minute Speed Project Fair, taking place Tuesday, 3 June, from 15:00-16:30, in the ANZ Stadium. If you’re selected, you’ll have the opportunity to deliver a five-minute presentation about your project to more than 100 prospective partners. Complete this form by 14 April to be considered.
If you would like to volunteer as a sergeant-at-arms, indicate your interest when you register for the convention .
