When are the preconvention events?
The Rotaract Preconvention, Youth Exchange Officers Preconvention, and Rotary Peace Symposium all take place 31 May and 1 June.
Who can attend the Rotary International Convention?
Registration is open to Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors, Rotary program alumni, Youth Exchange students, club and district employees, and spouses/partners of deceased Rotarians. Guests can also attend at the appropriate fee. See registration fees for all eligible attendees.
Are interpretation services available at the convention?
Rotary provides interpretation in several languages for the opening ceremony, general sessions, and closing ceremony. Most breakout sessions are conducted in English but some may also be offered in other languages. Refer to your program book to see which sessions are available in your language.
What is the temperature in Hamburg in June?
In June, average temperatures range from 51 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit (10-20 degrees Celsius).
Because the venue is air-conditioned, you may wish to bring a light jacket or sweater.
How do I register?

How do I reserve a hotel room?
You can get the best value in Hamburg by booking your hotel through Experient, Rotary’s official housing partner.
If you prefer to reserve your hotel by mail or fax, download the individual hotel reservation form and submit it by 25 April (availability is limited after this date). Reservations are not accepted by email.

How do I change my hotel reservation, such as my arrival or departure date?
You can change your reservation by going to Rotary’s official hotel reservation site, Experient. Select “Attendee” or “Group Attendee,” and then “Edit Existing Reservation.” Enter your email address and the password you created when you booked your reservation.

Do I need to pay a deposit for my room?
No, but you’ll be asked to provide credit card details to guarantee your reservation. The credit card must be valid through June 2019, and your credit card information will be sent to the hotel with your reservation details in May. Reservations cannot be guaranteed without a credit card.
Group bookings of 15 or more rooms have a separate deposit policy. Please see our group housing guidelines for details.
How do I cancel my reservation?
You can cancel your reservation by going to Rotary’s official hotel reservation site, Experient. Select “Attendee” or “Group Attendee,” click the “Edit Existing Reservation” button, and enter your email address and the password you created when you booked your reservation. Then select the “Cancel Room” icon.

How far from the convention center is my hotel?
You can find a map and a list of hotels on Rotary’s official hotel reservation site, Experient. Choose “Attendee,” and view the map at the bottom or side of the page. Select the “List View” tab to find your hotel’s distance from the Hamburg Messe. Each registered attendee will have complimentary access to Hamburg’s public transportation network. For additional transportation information, please refer to the Travel & Accommodations tab at riconvention.org.
How is public transportation in Hamburg?
The convention is in the heart of Hamburg, with Sternschanze and Messehallen stations on the grounds. The Hamburg public transportation system will be the main mode of transportation for the convention. Attendees can use their convention badges to board trains, buses, and ferries.
Will convention attendees get free access to Hamburg’s public transit network?
Yes! This year, for the first time, Rotary will provide every convention attendee with complimentary access to Hamburg’s public transportation network. The HVV (Hamburger Verkehrsverbund) has an extensive bus, rail, and ferry system, making it easy to travel throughout Hamburg. To get to the Hamburg Messe, the convention venue, take the U3 train to Sternschanze station or the U2 train to Messehallen station.
